Their were 2 things that were the items of this 'cottage'; was - the door to the bathroom was like a shed door and just as noisy and the heat in the bathroom, other than that, pretty ok
We stayed in one of the cottages there. It was spacious, clean and quiet. They left us a packet of shortbread and a small amount of milk which was nice. Not so much a welcome pack as ability to make a cuppa and have a biscuit with it. There was an issue for us with the bathroom. The light comes on automatically and stays on for around 10 minutes along with the fan which doesn't sound bad however this means in the night you can't go quietly to the loo. Everytime one of us went it meant the light waking the other in bed and then this continuing for the next 10 minutes so both being awake. Not sure why they have set it up like that as it doesn't make sense. We would not have used the light at all at night so less electric used and it stayed on far longer than we used the bathroom even for a shower. The door handle was also like a stable one so loud as well. Not really what you want when trying to sleep. Other than this the cottage is well laid out and comfortable. The lady could have been more friendly and didn't seem to want to show us round when we arrived but the duck and chickens were friendly and we didn't see the owners other than that.
Stayed in Mary's cottage. Very comfortable and very friendly
The lady owner was not polite. You have to pay extra for electric, shower and even washing up. The site was empty when all other sites around were very busy. I would not recommend or go back to this site.
Lovely site with clean facilities. Owners were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. We arrived in the area early but on emailing the owner said we could check in a little earlier. Toilets were very clean with plenty of toilet paper. Had been worried about some of the less flattering reviews but so glad we didn't take them too seriously. The road is a bit busier than we thought it would be but the noise didn't cause us any real problems and to be fair a road to Selby had been closed which may have meant more traffic.Electricity meter wasn't a problem and actually made us a bit more aware of our usage. Nice atmosphere on an evening with other campers sat around the fire pits they'd hired. Overall a great site and we've had a good relaxing break. Couldn't really ask more from a site for a relaxing break. Would definitely come back again and definitely recommend.
