Lovely place for walking or cycling, one problem is I heard it used to be a proper woodland and they cleared all the trees. I would have rated it five stars but I think the cleared land is very sad. At least some trees still remain but it's hardly a wood now.
Good view from the top. Could be more signage about the wildlife and the area.
not been the same since the trees were cut down but nice quiet walk
It would be nice but it's been decimated by tree cutting and the ground has all been churned up. Piles of detritus from the tree clearing just left around. Give it another couple of years and it should start to be nicer.
The Hough at Hambleton has been left in a right mess. It was supposed to be replanted and cleared up last year. It is now just ferns and mud. To go from being able to walk through the trees and listen to birds and squirrels is now a disgrace. This place could look so lovely if treated properly and it would be much appreciated by the those who use it.
