I believe that feedback when owning a business is vital to improvement, so here is mine (Mike Appleyard)I first contacted you about 6 months ago, and arranged a prompt viewing of a commercial property in Selby, that we were very much interested in renting for business expansion. We asked you to ask the landlord 2 simple questions for us and explained that if we had the answers back that we wanted we would proceed - (1. Will he repaint the front of the shop, and tidy it prior to lease agreement as is very scruffy at present? 2. Would he be willing to let us have 1 month rent free to get the inside looking something half decent as was in a bad state cosmetically)We were completely ignored and never got a response back for some reason. I understand that sometimes emails can go amiss and whatnot so i asked again a few weeks later and again, was ignored then too.I phoned up a THIRD time to the Selby branch and explained the whole situation again and asked that if someone can get back to us in the next couple of days as we really would appreciate this, surprise surprise no response. So, if this is YOUR property on New St, Selby, White shop front please know we TRIED to let this and just had our time wasted by Jigsaw lettings. Never will i try deal with this company again, they are incompetent, ignorant, and just hard work. I would strongly advise ANYONE to use another letting agency.
I am so upset with the way Jigsaw have treated my daughter, partner and myself with trying to rent a property. As I know there has to be checks for all tenants (I own a property that I have a tenant in myself) but the hoops you have to jump through with this company is ridiculous. With my daughter being under 25 I paid to be her guarantor to have all relevant checks for me along with the checks on them both as tenants which was fine. I even had to prove I didnt have a mortgage on my home and show them the deeds to my house! We also offered to pay 6-12 months rent up front with her being this age and her wage not covering the threshold and her partner being self employed. Even with these offered and excellent references from previous landlords and his accountant they have been refused. They say it was down to the landlord, his choice (which we met) and he said no. As a landlord myself with the offer of 12 months rent upfront and excellent references from previous landlords and accountant and knowing where their family home is and with a gaurantor who rents houses out and is mortgage free with a full time job I would be highly delighted. It makes me wonder how these people without jobs rent houses!! We have been made to feel like criminals. We wouldnt hand over 300 if we thought we would be rejected.
I am 100% satisfied with the level of service that Jigsaw have provided to me. They have dealt with my recent house sale as swiftly as possible and have always been available via email and telephone when there has been an issue that needed dealing with quickly. I would thoroughly recommend them for property lettings and management as well as sales. The staff are always polite, courteous and efficient and keep you informed of progress.
Recently tried to view a property to purchase. Tried contacting them several times over two weeks and couldn't get a viewing. It always seemed to be me the customer chasing them for a viewing when they should have kept us in the loop and kept us up to date with any progress. Then tried to view a rental property - and the exact same thing is happening. Chased twice to no avail and still no viewing. Finally given up and rented an alternative property. I understand tenants maybe difficult in allowing us to view but the agency should be giving the customer updates on what is happening and should be much more on the ball, it shouldnt be up to the customer to chase. After speaking to an alternative agency, they were much more professional and arranged a viewing the next day.
My first time renting a home and the staff at Jigsaw were more than helpful especially since I'm only 19 and it was quite a nerve racking experience. All the staff I spoke to were lovely, especially Alix Simpkin she was always so welcoming and extremely helpful even via email. Jigsaw are easy to contact, focused on customer care and highly recommended by myself and many other people I have spoken to.
